Sand Shark Coach - Teresa Jones and Stephanie Steiner

Teresa Jones – Teresa joined the Nampa Sharks in September 2007 as the Sand Sharks Coach.  She is from Milton-Freewater, Oregon.  She joined the Milton-Freewater Swim Team when she was eight in 1996 and swam with them until 2001.  Then she switched to Walla Walla YMCA Swim Team and continued swimming for them until 2005.  She was team captain for Walla Walla the last two years swimming for the team.  The past four summers she was a lifeguard at the city pool in Milton-Freewater.  Milton-Freewater now has a very small summer swim team that a few of the lifeguards helped out with this last summer. 

Teresa is currently attending Northwest Nazarene University.  She is sophomore nursing student with plans to finish with her bachelor’s degree in 2010. 

Stephanie Steiner – Stephanie joined the Nampa Sharks staff in July 2008. She brings 6 years of competitive swimming with her. She joined the Western Idaho Swim Team (WIST) out of Caldwell, Idaho when she was eight. This team, now separated into Caldwell Swim Team and Nampa Swim Team, practiced at the Caldwell Municipal Pool during the summers and Northwest Nazarene College Pool during the winters. She competed in many of the same pools and meets she is now coaching for. Her favorite race was the 100 yard Backstroke. Stephanie is currently helping the Nampa Sharks by coaching Bridge and Sand Sharks. She loves working with this age group teaching them the USA swim stroke techniques in a fun learning environment.

Stephanie has been married to Jason for 14 years and is a mom of two great little girls, Kayla (9) and Hannah (7).
